Co-founder of Sinrex, Dr. Carine Bourgeois holds a Master’s degree in Biology and a PhD in Biogeochemistry. She is a forest and coastal ecosystem scientist with over a decade of experience working at the intersection of carbon science, climate finance, ecosystem conservation and rehabilitation, and national forest monitoring systems. She has worked across Central Africa (Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Central African Republic, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea), West and Southern Africa (Mozambique, Madagascar), Southeast and East Asia (Cambodia, Vietnam, Japan, Philippines, China, Sri Lanka), and the Pacific (New Zealand, New Caledonia), as well as the United States.
Her expertise spans IPCC-aligned MRV systems, peatland and mangrove carbon stock assessment, REDD+, carbon markets, and the integration of nature-based solutions into national climate strategies.
