I had the opportunity to collaborate with SINREX Sustainable Solutions on a scientific study combining Earth Observation and fieldwork for mangrove ecosystem analysis in New Caledonia. I came across a member of the SINREX team during a master-level summer school in biology in Mozambique, organized by Sapienza University (Rome) and Eduardo Mondlane University, where they contributed as part of the teaching team. They provided excellent guidance through complex ecological dynamics, with high-quality training on field data collection, carbon estimation, and restoration project design. Combining strong scientific expertise with extensive field experience, they offered a comprehensive understanding of mangrove systems—from biophysical processes to socio-economic dimensions. Their inclusive teaching approach, clarity in knowledge transfer, and ability to foster open, collaborative discussions made this a highly enriching experience, significantly strengthening academic and professional development and enabling the presentation of mangrove research at international conferences.

I was guided by the SINREX team through an in-depth training on climate change, particularly on greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting. I then had the opportunity to complete internships with specialized organizations: at OSFAC, where I worked on estimating emissions from the Mongala peatlands and proposed mitigation measures, and later at GIZ, where I contributed to the Water–Energy–Ecosystems Nexus project to strengthen climate resilience. My interactions with the team were highly enriching; their professionalism and support greatly facilitated my professional integration. Today, I am involved in a German cooperation project aimed at strengthening the adaptation of Congolese populations to the impacts of climate change. The support of this team has had a real impact on my life, providing me with the confidence and skills needed to fully engage in this field.
